Thank you for helping us raise over $200,000 in 2020!
We did it! With your generous donations and CEC's Leadership Fund match of $100,000, we met our year-end fundraising goal, which has allowed us to hit the ground running this year. CEC's 2021 climate action goals are ambitious, and getting a strong start is essential.
We're also honored to share that in late December, it was announced that CEC is one of only five nonprofits in Santa Barbara County to earn the highest ratings possible on GuideStar and Charity Navigator, the two largest charity watchdogs. This builds on the list of esteemed recognitions CEC earned in 2020:
California Nonprofit of the Year – Assemblywoman Monique Limón selected CEC as a 2020 California Nonprofit of the Year for excellence in environmental leadership and collaboration. Learn more.
City of Santa Barbara Climate Hero – The City of Santa Barbara honored CEC with a Spirit of Service Award in the Climate Hero category for demonstrating a long-standing and sustained commitment to bold climate action and to the long term resilience of the Santa Barbara community. Learn more.
Local Hero – The Santa Barbara Independent named CEC’s Food Rescue Program Coordinator Julia Blanton a 2020 Local Hero for her efforts to rapidly expand food rescue efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic. Learn more.
I am touched and energized by the commitment and caliber of CEC's staff, Board, and supporters like you. Together we will push forward equitable local resilience and community-based solutions in the face of COVID-19 and the climate crisis.
Thank you for joining us in this effort and making our work possible,
Sigrid Wright, CEO/Executive Director
