About Johnny

Johnny Alonzo, a restoration ecologist at UCSB, participated in CEC’s first-ever cohort of Climate Stewards. For his Stewardship Project he designed a comic-book-themed app called “Enviro Hero” that encourages eco-friendly actions to earn points redeemable for rewards such as discounts at environmentally minded businesses. “Through the Climate Stewards course,” says Johnny, “…I understood more about the impact that a community can make. I think my ultimate goal is to introduce people to taking these actions but eventually become part of the wider community that they’re in so they can make a more significant difference.”
