The Climate Stewards program was transformative for both my personal and professional journey. It deepened my understanding of what it means to be an environmental steward, equipping me with actionable tools and insights to make a greater impact through my business EcoStiks. By connecting with a passionate and like-minded community, I gained invaluable partnerships and ideas that helped strengthen our sustainability initiatives.

About Julie

Through CEC’s Climate Stewards course, alumnus Julie Schneiderman, founder and CEO of local company EcoStiks, became fascinated with climate stories and collective environmental action that fosters “community, understanding, and compassion.” For her Stewardship Project, Julie teamed up with the Starfish Connection and their mobile recording studio, the “Talk-O-Truck,” at Santa Barbara’s 2024 Earth Day Celebration to gather and record climate stories and promote community climate resilience. She hopes to connect with other climate storytelling initiatives around the world to gather climate data and facilitate connections.
