Shop Secondhand

The Community Environmental Council (CEC) works to promote a circular economy and closed-loop systems that reduce waste and fossil fuel emissions. Buying clothing, furniture, cars, and other household items secondhand is a great way to support this mission. Clothing manufacturing alone produces 10% of global fossil fuel emissions annually—and a lot of that clothing quickly ends up in the landfill, producing even more emissions. Shopping secondhand lengthens the lifespan of products and reduces what ends up in the landfill. It can also help you save a lot of money, and cultivate a unique style!
