CEC’s Climate Stewards Certification Program

Graduates of the Community Environmental Council's Climate Stewards certification program are equipped to play an active role in their community to advance rapid and equitable solutions to the climate crisis – and make a positive impact throughout the Central Coast.

CEC is proud to be the first and only nonprofit on the Central Coast to deliver the Climate Stewards certification program. This nine-week course focuses on the work being done by CEC and other organizations in our region to address and alleviate climate impacts. Participants will gain access to climate action resources and opportunities to join the movement – and will graduate with a better understanding of the psychology and science behind climate change, the tools necessary to forge greater community connections, and the knowledge to effectively communicate the climate crisis.

Let's take bold climate action, together.

Consider taking this course if you are a:

  • Community member looking to play an active role in creating or implementing climate solutions in your home, workplace, or region

  • Nonprofit leader or staff looking to increase your organization's climate knowledge and reduce its climate impact

  • Small, medium, or large business owner or staff looking to ensure climate-friendly policies and practices in your organization

  • Recent college graduate looking to build your capacity for climate-related career opportunities

  • Retiree looking to engage in local climate action

Join our growing network of climate leaders who are spurring a wave of grassroots action across the California Central Coast – and beyond.
