Sustainable Agriculture Action Plan:
Bridging Food Safety and Sustainability on California’s Central Coast
Tensions between food safety compliance and the adoption of climate-smart practices are apparent in Central Coast produce farming. However, both are needed to ensure the health of consumers and the environment. This report describes findings from grower engagement and recommends solutions that could both protect public health and advance environmental practices.

Other Services
The Santa Barbara County Food Action Network (SBCFAN) facilitates access to funding, other forms of capital, legal services, and long-term, sustainable farmland. SBCFAN also supports space and equipment sharing between organizations and individuals throughout the food system.
