Tatiana Bok, Scientist
I’m a scientist, and I’m a CEC Climate Steward.
Megan authored a solidarity brief titled “Public Health and Climate Action in 2025” for her Stewardship Project.
“At the heart of the project was the idea of turning collected debris into art. I aim to work with nearby schools, environmental organizations, and artists to co-create a more inclusive and emotionally supportive approach to climate action — one that not only addresses physical cleanup but also invites people to process and connect through creativity.”
About Tatiana
With a background in environmental science and a deep concern for the climate, Tatiana Bok joined the Climate Stewards Course to channel her knowledge into something hopeful, creative, and community-based. She was looking for a way to bridge her technical expertise from graduate studies with a more meaningful and tangible approach to climate action.
Tatiana designed a creative communications strategy for her Stewardship Project to increase engagement in wetland cleanups, ease eco-anxiety and raise environmental awareness. Inspired by the Ballona Wetlands — a protected ecological reserve in Los Angeles where she spent time growing up — Tatiana’s project focused on transforming collected debris into art. By turning pollution into visual symbols of resilience and renewal, she sought to make environmental action more accessible and emotionally supportive.
Tatiana continues to work with local coastal communities in L.A. She partners with organizations like Friends of Ballona Wetlands and nearby schools to co-create inclusive climate initiatives that blend science, creativity, and action. Through cleanups, community and collaborative art, she’s helping others connect with the climate crisis in a way that inspires both healing and hope.
