About Megan
Megan Kenney joined the Climate Stewards course to bridge her professional work in public health with her personal experience volunteering for environmental conservation and restoration efforts. She authored a solidarity brief titled “Public Health and Climate Action in 2025” for her Stewardship Project, highlighting key resources and best practices for navigating shifts in federal policy and funding.
By sharing the brief with environmental organizations across Santa Barbara County, Megan aimed to foster collaboration between the public health and environmental sectors — two fields facing increasingly parallel challenges. The Climate Stewards course informed Megan’s work building networks of care in rural Northern California to address environmental trauma and strengthened her ability to use climate data to illustrate the impacts of environmental threats on public health and health equity.
