About Contessa
While taking the Climate Stewards course, Contessa Atkin was eager to meet others who shared her concern for climate change and to expand her understanding of both its scientific and social impacts. Contessa helped coordinate the Climate Action Stage at the Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival for her Stewardship Project, assisting with planning and managing the stage during the event.
The experience gave her meaningful exposure to local climate activism and helped her build valuable connections. “The course gave me a community that I can go back to and work through for future volunteerism and activism,” she said.
As she continues her journey, Contessa is committed to serving the Goleta and Santa Barbara communities and hopes to amplify her impact as she steps into her professional career.
