Community Environmental Council CEO/Executive Director shares her reaction to President Joe Biden's signing of the Inflation Reduction Act into law:
"Today is a good day for the planet and a time for all of our fellow climate activists to CELEBRATE. The President has signed into law the largest single investment in combating climate change EVER. This law represents a long overdue economic shift away from fossil fuels and finally does for the nation what California and CEC have fought for regionally: giving clean energy a competitive edge. Bringing down the costs of electric vehicles and renewable energy is essential to solving the climate crisis. We're inspired by this historic day for our nation to work even harder to advance a rapid, equitable transition to a sustainable future on the Central Coast.
So, hug a tree, high-five a friend, soak in our sun-filled air, jump in the ocean – anything goes – to celebrate this win."
