Ventura County Energy Needs Assessment

We know that one of the ways we can make a real and lasting impact on climate change is by ensuring we increase the number of Central Coast residents, particularly from our front line communities and communities of color, who understand the benefits of clean energy and have easier pathways to access green technologies. But, we need to better understand the gaps that exist, before we can take action.

That’s why the Community Environmental Council is working in partnership with the California Energy Commission (CEC)’s Electric Program Investment Charge (EPIC) and the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI) to connect with businesses, property owners, and communities in Ventura County, especially in historically underserved communities, to better understand how public funding and green technology providers can best support the communities they aim to serve.

This project is funded through a California Energy Commission (CEC)’s Electric Program Investment Charge (EPIC) grant administered by the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI). Project results will inform program planning efforts carried out by the Energy Commission, LACI, and local governments. EPIC funding is collected through ratepayer dollars from the state's three largest electric investor-owned utilities – Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E), Southern California Edison (SCE), and San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E).
